Hormonal transitions can change how comfortable and connected you feel in your body. Shatavari has a cherished place in Ayurvedic women’s care, traditionally associated with nourishment and vitality. Today, specific root extracts are being studied for menopause-related symptoms.

Comfort in a changing chapter

A small randomized trial found improvements in symptoms including hot flashes and vaginal dryness with a defined shatavari extract. These early findings give a practical focus to the root’s long traditional relationship with women’s wellbeing.

The nourishing tradition

In Ayurveda, shatavari belongs to the rasayana tradition: botanicals associated with replenishment and rejuvenation. Its root brings that perspective into a broader routine of nourishment, rest, and individual support through the years around menopause.

The research & references

What the studies tell us

A 2024 trial randomized 70 women to Aspurūs shatavari-root extract or placebo for eight weeks and reported improvements in several menopause-related symptom measures. It studied the extract, not Gaia’s complete multi-herb formula. A separate 2025 perimenopause trial also reported benefits with a defined root extract. These short studies do not establish suitability for every life stage, long-term effects, or safety during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Care with this plant.

The featured Shatavari Complex is not for use during pregnancy or lactation. Review the complete formula with your clinician if you have a medical condition, a hormone-sensitive condition, or take medicines. Avoid ingredients to which you are allergic. Persistent vaginal dryness, pain, or troublesome menopausal symptoms deserve an individualized assessment.

Research relates to the species, preparation, and people studied. Findings for an ingredient do not establish the effects of the complete featured formula.
