Are you confused about where to get your fish oils? Should you just simply eat fish... but what about the heavy metals? Should you just take supplements... but what about the quality control?
When focusing on fish oil the goal is to eat fish that contain low levels of mercury. Check out this chart:
Taking fish oils in supplement form is also a little tricky... The supplement industry contains very little regulations from the FDA. There are countless fish oil supplements on the market but don't think that grabbing the least expensive one is the best move! Usually the cheaper fish oil supplements means that they don't spend the money to ensure the toxins have been carefully filtered out or the extra money to test their products using outside agencies. I only recommend 2 clinical grade brands to my patients which are Nordic Naturals and Pharmax, yes they cost more but they are standardized and highly regulated.
Aren't really into fish? you can get omega 3's from plant sources too!
