It's the height of tomato season right now and the perfect time to discuss the benefits. Tomatoes are rich in lycopene which is a potent antioxidant and has been shown to be protective against certain cancers. They are also a great source of vitamins C, B6, K, A, folate, potassium, niacin, and thiamin.
Unfortunately this night shade fruit is not for everyone, some people can have an allergic reaction.
